How Datana collects, uses, and protects your personal information and data.

Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. When you use the platform, we process datasets you upload, analysis results, chat messages, and usage metadata required to operate the service.
If you import from a link or connect a database, we store the link and the connection details you provide (host, database name, username, and password). Passwords and full links are encrypted, and we only read the tables or query results you choose to import including on scheduled refreshes you set up.
If you share an analysis, we store your share links, the email addresses of people you invite, their role, and any comments they or you add.
How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Datana platform
- Run analysis jobs and generate insights on the data you upload or import
- Run the scheduled refreshes you set up and email you alerts about them
- Send invitations and comment notifications when you share an analysis
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls
- Send transactional emails such as password resets, receipts, and analysis notifications
- Monitor performance, security, and abuse prevention
Data retention
Your datasets, connections, and analysis outputs are retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may delete datasets and connections, and revoke share links, from your dashboard at any time. Upon account deletion, we remove associated user data in accordance with our retention policies.
Third-party services
Datana may use third-party providers for AI inference, email delivery, error monitoring, payments (Paystack, Flutterwave, Apple App Store, Google Play), and infrastructure hosting. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and are bound by contractual data protection obligations. AI providers receive only the summaries and query results needed for a task, not your full dataset.
Your rights
